Apartment FAQ
Do I need to bring towels and bed linen?
No. This is all provided.
When is the apartment cleaned?
Every three days, your bed linen and towels will be changed and the kitchen and bathrooms cleaned.
The cleaners normally arrive between 1100 and 1600. They do not do the washing up but will empty or fill
the dishwasher.
If you would prefer alternative cleaning days, please let us know when you arrive.
We aim for a very high standard of comfort and cleanliness. If you have any comments, we would be very grateful
if you would let us know during your stay.
Can you arrange a car to pick me up from the airport?
Yes. Just let us know when you book, or a few days in advance of your arrival.
Prices are competitive compared to an airport taxi, with the advantage that the driver will meet you
in person at the airport and take you directly to where you are going in Sitges.
What other services do you provide?
Our agents, based at their centrally-located hotel in Sitges, can offer the following:
DVD rental - €3 per night: films, musicals and dramas, for that quiet evening in the apartment.
Beach towels - €1 per towel, per change: to save you having to pack heavy towels in your luggage, collect one on your
way past to the beach and return it when you are done, or when you want to change it for a fresh one.
Welcome packs - €10: particularly useful if you are arriving late or on a Sunday
or Public holiday, tea, coffee, milk, water, sugar and orange juice are all included (€18 for a
deluxe pack, including a bottle of Codorníu Cava).
Mobile phones - charged on a "pay as you go basis", with a Spanish telephone number,
this can work out considerably cheaper than using a foreign mobile phone.
Location FAQ
How do I get to Sitges?
Please see the Travel
page of our Sitges Guide
for details of all the options.
Where exactly is the apartment?
The street is named "Carrer del Cardenal Francesc Vidal i Barraquer". If you are looking for it on a map,
you will find various shortened versions of this name (understandably, there is not normally room for the full
name) and the apartment is a few metres around the corner from the Red Cross building.
What is the area like around the apartment?
The street is mainly residential, with just one shop (selling bread and cakes) and a small cafe and
restaurant further up the road.
The location was chosen because it is close enough to the central area of Sitges, yet is not itself in a busy vicinity.
This means it is relatively quiet at night when you are trying to sleep.
Close by is the "Poble Sec" area of Sitges. Here there are several local shops, banks, cafes, etc.
This has a village atmosphere, and provides an interesting contrast to the centre of Sitges.
The apartment is inside the "restricted development" area of Sitges. This limits the size and type of
buildings and ensures that any new development is in keeping with original architecture. This also means that
when the small apartment block was built (completed in 2003), it maintained the size and character of the two houses
that it replaced.
Can I park outside the apartment building?
Probably not, but there is usually no problem finding a space (free of charge) within a minute's walk. You can always stop outside
the apartment building to load/unload, even if there is no space to park there.
A car is certainly not required for getting around Sitges. One of the joys of being here is that everything is
so close together and a lot of the streets in the centre are free of traffic for most of the day.
However, if you want to visit some of the more far-flung (and quieter) beaches, or any of the interesting towns
and country areas around Sitges, you may want to rent a car for a few days during your stay.
How far away is the beach?
San Sebastian beach, next to the church in the centre of Sitges, is the nearest beach - about 600 metres away.
From the other side of the church, further beaches stretch uninterrupted for about 1.5 kilometres.
Reservations FAQ
Is your availability calendar up to date?
The availability calendar is updated on an hourly basis, so should be up to date. Occasionally, a booking may be in
progress or have been recently completed, in which case it may not yet be shown when you look, but this is rare.
Could I book the apartment cheaper elsewhere?
No. We guarantee that, even though the we may make that apartment available through other agencies and websites,
the price on this website will always be the lowest.
Can you offer discounts for longer bookings?
The prices shown on our website are for short-term bookings (a few days up to a few weeks). If you want to come
for a longer period, please let us know your requirements and we will be happy to send you a quotation and
further details.
How does the booking process work?
Any inquiry you send us from this website does not obligate you in any way. If you have made a booking
request, we will first confirm to you that the apartment is available for the dates you want, and give you
details of how to pay the non-refundable deposit.
You can send credit card details by e-mail or fax, or you can telephone them through to us.
Once we have processed the deposit charge to your credit card, we will send you a confirmation e-mail.
At this point, you have a guaranteed booking for the accommodation.
Can I cancel a booking?
Cancellation of a confirmed booking results in loss of the deposit paid.
In addition, cancellation later than 30 days before planned arrival date may result in further charges if we
are unable to re-let the apartment. Cancellation should be notified as soon as possible in order to minimise your financial loss and to allow us
to find other guests and thus lessen any charge. Cancellation should be notified in a fax or e-mail and a
reply requested.
We strongly recommend that you have personal travel insurance that will compensate you if you have to cancel.
A "no show" will result in the full amount of the booking being charged.
Will you charge me for damages?
Accidents happen! Please let us know if anything is damaged during your stay, so that we can replace it for
you or the next guests. A normal amount of wear and tear (including the odd accidental breakage) is expected and we will
not charge you for this.
For anything beyond this, we reserve the right to charge for damages. However, we would be grateful (and
much less likely to charge you) if you let us know before you leave.
Do I need to pay a deposit in addition to the booking costs?
No. Your credit card details are all that is required to secure the accommodation.
What other costs do I need to pay?
None. All other services (gas, electricity, water, air-conditioning, cleaning, linen change) and taxes are included in
the price you pay.
Can I leave luggage after I check out?
You can check in after 1400 on your day of arrival and check out before 1100 on your day of departure. Check-in is
at the hotel owned by the agents in Sitges (near the railway station).
Outside of these times, you are welcome to leave your luggage at the hotel for later collection.
Services FAQ
Is there a lift (elevator)?
Yes - there is a lift from the building entrance to the apartment, which is on the first floor (one floor above street level).
Is the apartment suitable for children?
We do not recommend the apartment for younger children or toddlers. Because of the natural materials used
throughout the apartment, there are many hard surfaces and sharp corners
as well as ornaments, artwork, etc., which could possibly cause injury or easily be damaged.
However, the layout makes it ideal for a couple together with an older child or a baby.
If you have any questions, please let us know specific details.
How accessible is the apartment for those with disabilities?
Most of Sitges is quite hilly and street pavements are narrow with limited provision of drop kerbs.
The area around the apartment is no exception.
There is one small step of a couple of inches from the outside to the entrance hallway of the building, then level to the lift and level
from the lift to and throughout the apartment. There is another small step of about two inches out to the terrace.
Please ask if you have any specific questions about access.
How good is the air-conditioning?
If you have stayed in Sitges before in the summer, you will know this is a very important consideration!
We have chosen very efficient and quiet air-conditioning units for the bedrooms. They can quickly
cool the rooms from ambient temperature in under 15 minutes (even in the height of summer). At night,
a special "quiet" mode allows the air-conditioning to run almost silently, while easily maintaining
your preferred temperature.
The units have been situated away from the beds, to avoid cold draughts when you are sleeping, and have controls
for direction of airflow.
We ask that you switch off the units when you are not in the apartment, to save energy.
How good is the central-heating?
Even with the mild climate in Sitges, winter evenings can be chilly and central-heating is vital for a comfortable
stay.
We have a gas central heating system with the boiler outside the apartment (so you cannot hear it inside). There
is a simple control to regulate heat, and the system is on all the time (no complicated timers to set). All rooms
have radiators.
What is your smoking policy
Smoking is allowed throughout the apartment and ashtrays are provided.
Feedback from non-smokers staying in the apartment is that this has no noticeable lingering effect.
Is there a telephone?
There is no telephone or telephone socket in the apartment. Mobile phone reception is good across the whole of
Sitges and there are plenty of places available for access to the Internet.
What electrical sockets are there?
Standard European wall sockets are fitted throughout. These have two round pins and an earth contact.
Voltage throughout is 230V AC.
